The Process at a Glance: Conduct an immediate intake to verify the standing of the accountable authority. Draft the Application for an Urgent Interim Order, the Urgency Coversheet, and a supporting Affidavit detailing the immediate risk. Electronically file the package using the urgent registry flags. Once granted, arrange immediate personal service of the interim order on the respondent. Email the order to all state and territory firearms registries on the same day. Within 7 days of the urgent order being made, file the main Originating Application for a Final Order to prevent the urgent interim order from automatically lapsing under section 16.
